The first Lodge of Mark Master Masons was established in Bedfordshire in 1889 and was called the Lea Lodge No. 405. Since then, a further 8 Mark Lodges and 5 Royal Ark Mariner Lodges have been formed and are working at various Masonic Centres throughout Bedfordshire. In those early years, the Province was joined with Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire. On 25 February 1985, the separate Province of Bedfordshire was constituted under a new Provincial Grand Master. Provincial Grand Lodge meets in June each year to confer new Provincial appointments and promotions and to welcome guests from other Provinces. As a Province, we try to organise social events for our members and their families since we regard the family as a very important part of Freemasonry and also to care for any of our members who need help. I hope you will find something of interest here, whether you are a Freemason or not".
